This MSF-GFT programme from New England College of Business (NECB) in association with the London Academy of Trading aims to guide students towards achieving their professional goals in finance and trading. The unique core finance curriculum with a concentration in Global Finance Trading offers valuable opportunities for students to acquire essential skill sets.

Why specifically this programme?

Students with an MSF-GFT degree will benefit from job growth in the finance industry. A growing range of financial products, coupled with a need for in-depth knowledge of geographic regions, is expected to lead to strong employment growth. As with other managerial occupations, job-seekers are likely to face competition because there are more applicants than job openings. Candidates with a master's degree or certification will enjoy the best job prospects. As reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of financial managers is projected to grow 7% from 2014 to 2024. Moreover, employment of financial analysts is projected to grow 12 percent from 2014 to 2024, faster than the average for all occupations. Employment of securities, commodities, and financial services sales agents is projected to grow 10% from 2014 to 2024, faster than the average for all occupations. Lastly, demand for investment banking advisory services and commodities trading are likely to create strong employment growth.

How will I be assessed?

Methods of assessment include weekly on-line discussions, quizzes, papers, group projects, and potentially a final exam. To cover the learning objectives of courses within the programme, weekly discussions provide students with an opportunity to discuss and present different aspects of the relevant course material. Students' discussion posts, along with weekly individual and group assignments, are graded based on a grading rubric that consists of quantitative and qualitative feedback. Group assignments provide opportunities for students to appreciate the realities of group dynamics in the workplace while performing the tasks at hand via a collaborative format.
